BACKGROUND
Bino-Arm was created and developed to solve the problem of binocular wobble.
In so doing, the solution had to be simple, and it had to be effective in all
locations and under all conditions. The three essential factors were,
therefore, ‘Positive Stability’, ‘Versatility’ and ‘Portability’. All of these
have been achieved.
The overall problem of stability is well set out in the book ‘Exploring the
Night Sky with Binoculars’ by Sir Patrick Moore.
"…Most photographic shops sell binocular mounts which can be screwed into
the top of a camera tripod. This is satisfactory enough: though it is often
necessary to perch the tripod on top of a platform or a solid table, as
otherwise you will have to be something of a contortionist when looking at an
object high in the sky"
"…Again the main essential is steadiness. What you really want is the
facility of moving the binoculars freely in any direction, in altitude and also
in azimuth…"
Bino-Arm also provides the simple and effective solution to those other three
criteria. 'Steadiness', 'Altitude', and 'Azimuth' are all covered, with the
extra facilities of being able to ‘Scan’ over the land or in the sky, and of
being able to 'Follow Moving Objects'.
